REPAIRS AND REGLAZING Click images to enlarge While new for old is the preferred option, sometimes reglazing the existing windscreen/windows can be worthwhile. It really depends on the condition of your aluminium frames. In the case of aluminium framed windows, compatible replacement rubbers and frames clogged with old sealant etc, can be the difference between getting a good seal or a leaky one. These issues and others can create problems when reglazing windows that are very old. Old half cab windows fitted in perished rubbers can be easily replaced with new (See picture above). Windscreens that are badly corroded, have impact damage or have suffered from attempted D.I.Y. can make repair work a nightmare. Money can be saved if you're prepared to do the remove/refit and disassemble work yourself. It's always difficult to guarantee a perfect result when working with used product. Rest assured, we use the best materials available and try hard to short circuit unforeseen problems. Nevertheless it may not be cost effective!! |
